Job Description Job Description Strategic Sourcing Lead The Strategic Sourcing Lead is responsible for overseeing the end?to?end procurement lifecycle, ensuring the organization secures high?quality goods and services at competitive prices while maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role drives sourcing strategy, contract negotiations, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply base. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located near Aurora IL. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies across key spend categories. Lead competitive bidding activities (RFPs, RFQs) and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure optimal value. Manage vendor selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance. Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform procurement decisions. Negotiate contracts, pricing terms, service-level agreements, and long?term supply arrangements. Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure proper contract governance, risk mitigation, and adherence to organizational policies. Manage supplier relationships to support quality, cost, delivery, and innovation goals. Oversee purchase order processes and ensure accuracy and alignment with internal requirements. Monitor inventory levels (where applicable) to avoid shortages or excess. Resolve procurement-related discrepancies in invoices, deliveries, or quality issues. Work closely with Finance, Operations, Quality, and other business units to forecast demand and align sourcing strategy with organizational goals. Support internal teams with product, materials, and service sourcing expertise. Track key performance indicators such as cost savings, supplier performance, and cycle-time improvements. Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and implement enhanced workflows or automation. Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation for audit readiness. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or purchasing experience (manufacturing or operations environment preferred). Strong negotiation skills with experience managing complex contracts. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa, JD Edwards) and MS Office (especially Excel). Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem?solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast?paced environment.
