The Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible for plan--ning daily main--tenance work and long term project work in a cor--rect and effi--cient man--ner. The Mechanical Maintenance Planner will work in the plants Work Management Information System (WMIS) system to plan jobs for execution by the maintenance technicians and welders, which includes preparing job packages, and ordering parts for the specific job. Other tasks include, but are not limited to analyzing a technical problem, field checking, specifying applicable equipment, developing cost and scheduling estimates. The Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible to ensure design safety by incorporating CF standards, government codes, and sound engineering design practicesJob Description: Key Job Elements: Orderly flow of the work order system ensuring all work requested by the customer is completed on a timely basis as indicated by the work priority. Work with Procurement, Engineering and outside suppliers as required to order all non-stock parts and materials required to complete any given task and lists them in the work order plan. Maintaining fixed, rotating, and mechanical equipment records, such as Bills of Material and specification sheets, within the WMIS. Maintaining, and updating as necessary, a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program. Participate in planning detailed shutdown and turnaround work. Develops a plan for completion of all the work orders, including an estimate of the labor required and a listing of the parts or materials needed. Specifies and reserves the stock materials necessary for completion of the job and lists in the job plan. Specifies tools and special equipment necessary for completion of the work order. Completes the job plan and forwards the work order to the Maintenance Supervisor for assignment. Consults with the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, and/or I&E supervisor during job execution as necessary. Also works with any outside contractors as necessary to complete the job plan. Works with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to coordinate installation, maintenance, enhancement and upgrade of the plant systems. Responds to Plant operations as necessary to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment. Helps develop the criteria for preventative maintenance frequencies in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineer, and Maintenance Supervisor. Prepares job plans which include the required tools and data and the procedure in which to inspect the equipment. Monitors PM completion efficiency and backlog and recommends actions to maintain completion compliance. Reviews all field data for completeness, consults with maintenance supervision, and recommends corrective action or further repairs. Prepares job summaries for entry into the equipment history files. Monitors equipment history for frequent failures or for excessive repair costs. Insures that the Management of Change (MOC) in maintenance procedures and operating procedures, that are a result of modifying current equipment or a new installation, are communicated with other departments. Monitors new technology for ideas to reduce cost and improve plant on-stream time. Troubleshoots equipment problems and recommends solutions as appropriate. Plans all non-emergency work orders in a timely manner with Production and Maintenance Supervision. Maintains close communication with all levels of supervision. Insures that proper safety procedures are specified and documented on all planned jobs. Participates in the "on-call" rotation. Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies. Support site EHS activities through compliance with all environmental, health and safety policies procedures, and through active participation in EHS programs and initiatives. Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university with two years of industry experience, or a construction management degree with two years of industry experience, or a certified Journeyman Millwright or a qualified Level 5 Maintenance Technician or equivalent having 5 years working experience as a maintenance technician in an industrialhemical setting. Previous planning or supervisor experience is preferred. 2. Solid communication skills including the ability to effectively converse, compose written documents and interact effectively with peers and supervisors. 3. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills 4. Strong knowledge of fixed, rotating, and mechanical equipment including but not limited to: pumps, compressors, steam turbines, heat exchanges, piping, motors, large industrial fans, gear boxes, valves, and safety devices. 5. Strong knowledge of welding principles is preferred. 6. Have good general knowledge of PC software applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook and able to adapt to WMIS system and other planning tools. 7. Results oriented and initiative 8. Good interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work as a team player. 9. Must be able to climb towers and enter confined spaces and the ability to lift 50 lbs. 10.
