Location Description: Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. - We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. - Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY: - Hardcooked labor performs rotation of all general production and labor duties in the hard-cooked department. Hardcooked labor is responsible for inspecting product and packaging. Hardcooked labor also helps ensure correct packaging, counts and labels. -This position always has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability. -DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspects packages of finished products looking for shells, grades and correct number of eggs per package.
• Assists the inspector checking the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs and remaining shell as needed.
• Places proper labels on tubs.
• Understands dates, expiration and item numbers.
• Ensures that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean.
• Assists operator with machine start-ups and film changes.
• Stacks tubs of finished product onto the proper pallet.
• Loads flats of eggs onto belt by hand.
• Removes eggs from totes and stages them on the table.
• Performs pasteurizer, metal detector and brine solution checks.
• Helps keep production area clean.
• Follows proper SOP's (Standard Operation Procedures)
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Assumes personal responsibility to insure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone by adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Insures regulatory compliance at all times.
• Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
  • Less than high school education. -PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE AND SKILLS:
    • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Able to use computer touch screens to start and stop lines as needed.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license. Experience with pallet jack preferred.
    • Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
    • Capability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
    • Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
    • Able to safely lift and carry 50lbs.
    • Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment.
    • Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
    • Displays responsible behavior at work.
    • Open to change.
    • Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments.
    • Ability to work around required cleaning solutions.
    • Possesses good hand-eye coordination.
    • Able to stand on hard surface most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp and reach.
