TITLE: HR Specialist
STATUS: Full-time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of HR
LOCATION: Sioux City Morningside location until training completed (approx. 90 days)
Post-training: Hybrid with 1-2 days per week at Morningside location
SALARY: $42,000 - $45,000, negotiable DOQ

SUMMARY:
Manage applicant tracking system and related communication with applicants and managers. Monitor and update various job boards and work with Marketing for approved and updated content. Assist with benefits administration, monitoring eligibility, handling employee inquiries, and maintaining employee files. Communicate frequently and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions): These responsibilities are representative of those for the position.

  • Post and manage all open positions in applicant tracking system, reaching out to Support Team as needed for assistance. Refresh job postings quarterly to attract qualified candidates. May post openings on other websites such as each state's Department of Labor site, etc.
  • Work with Marketing to place ads for active openings on designated social media sites or another platform, as applicable. Work with hiring manager to post on alternate sites, if appropriate. Ensure that all postings comply with Equal Employment Opportunity and drug-free workplace, or other requirements to which Wireless World has a commitment.
  • Schedule and conduct phone interviews with applicants to assess qualifications. Complete Scorecards and advance or pass on candidates. Post all assessments to applicant tracking system and notify hiring manager for review and response. Serve as primary source of contact for all applicants.
  • Continuously communicate with managers to ensure postings are current and an adequate pool of qualified candidates is responding. Collaborate with managers, Director of HR, and Marketing when different results are desired.
  • Submit candidates for background check and approve candidates with clear reports. Refer all others to Director of HR.
  • Manage initial steps of new hire onboarding process. Including, but not limited to:

  • Direct Applicant to fill out online paperwork and I-9 Form.
  • Remind Manager to fill out online paperwork in mandated time period.
  • Review all new hire documentation for completeness, following up on missing or incorrect information.
  • File all documents in new hire's personnel file upon receipt.
  • When required forms and online paperwork have been completed, request Access information from New Hire Team.


  • Complete follow-up emails and calls with new employees aimed at retention and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401(k) plan. Handle employee benefit-related inquiries.
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits. Process enrollments, changes, cancellations, and COBRA including payroll deductions.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. Process employee changes and resignations or terminations.
  • Contribute news and articles to monthly employee newsletter.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as back-up to Director of HR or other administrative staff on designated responsibilities.
  • Train team members on use of applicant tracking system and hiring process and other related responsibilities.
  • Respond timely to reviews left on Glassdoor, Indeed and LinkedIn as appropriate.
  • Complete other reporting requests as needed, and time allows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of our business.
  • Assist with special projects or related tasks upon request and with approval of Director of HR.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or related area preferred. Will consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an HR-related field preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills required.
  • Organization and attention to detail skills required.
  • General Excel experience and proficiency required.
