Food . Location DescriptionWakefield is one of the largest
production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex
plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized
egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.
ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY:The purpose of this position is to
insure proper specifications are met and documented on all incoming
ingredients and packaging materials and outgoing finished products.
The technicians also communicate all findings to the necessary
departments. All of Michael Foods, the customers and the public
will benefit from the work done by technicians who ensure safe,
compliant quality products.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Collects
dried samples according to customer requirements.Collects incoming
ingredient samples according to Michael Foods, Inc.
requirements.Collects return product samples according to Michael
Foods, Inc. requirements.Responsible for independently carrying and
lifting up to 55 pound sample cases repeatedly.Communicates and
coordinates with Production and Receiving to keep sampling up to
date and accurate.Performs other duties of a similar nature or
level as needed or assigned.Adheres to safe work practices,
following GMP's, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that
product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any
conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food
quality or personnel safety.Responsible for following their shift's
checklist for the area, sanitation, and dryers.Accountable for
filling out Batch records that correspond to each dryer and dryer
rounds on Finished Product Analysis paperwork found in Lower
Lab.Responsible for verifying the dryer sanitation packets.Takes
dryer composite bags and retention boxes to designated areas when a
label/vat switch or shutdown occurs.Sets powders and weights on all
dryers on specific days.Accountable for applying sodium tartrate
when needed.Responsible for weekly environmental swabs and air
plates.Every other week, performs standard solution procedures on
CEM.Ensures employees are following proper safety
policies/procedures.Calculates how many Canner totes will be made
for the day and what totes will need to be sampled.Verifies the PSE
scale weight being used.Takes and writes down the sink,
refrigerator, egg, tote and tank temperatures on the production
paperwork.Once a week, required PSE swabs are to be doneOne flat of
eggs from inshell will need to be pulled for each load and taken to
cooler 8 retention rackChecks door foamers to make sure they are
within spec.Will need to perform separate CCPs on metal detectors
for Multivac machines, Brine, and Dicer if they are running.For MV
machines, O2 AND CO2 in packages will need to be tested for all
packages per cycle.Acid bath titration needs to be checked for only
the Multivac machines.Communicates with supervisor/lead if anything
abnormal is found.Brine solution will need to be tested with a ph
meter by the dicer fridge.Dicer ozone water will need to be
tested.Brings the hardcook shelf life to micro daily in a timely
manner.Stores library samples found in the chemistry room.Checks in
ingredients and samples them when needed.Works with micro,
process/chemistry lab, and QA supervisors to get products sampled
in a timely manner.Able to make labels for dried yellow and white
samples.Adheres to all company policies and
procedures.QualificationsPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND
SKILLS: Must have or must be able to obtain a forklift and pallet
mover operator's license.Must be safety minded and have knowledge
of all safety procedures and follow's all G.M.P'sMust have basic
computer skills.Good oral and written communication skills. Ability
to work independently, prioritize duties and display responsible
behavior at work..Capable of adding and subtracting two digit
numbers and multiplying and dividing with 10's and 100's. Able to
perform these operations using units of weight, measurement, and
volume. Capability of interpreting a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.Must
demonstrate open and honest communication between the operator and
the supervisor.Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with
others to complete work assignments.Positive interpersonal
relationships.Open to change.An equivalent combination of education
and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential
duties of the job as listed above.Knowledge of food safety and
HACCP principles that is critical to food products microbiology and
chemistry testing.Excellent communication and interpersonal
relations with co-workers, supervisors, etc. sufficient to exchange
or convey information and to problem solve.Microsoft Word and Excel
experience required.Ability to recognize problem situations and
take appropriate steps to resolve.Available to work weekends,
holidays and overtime as needed.Good organizational
