The Sr. Silencer Finishing Technician oversees daily operations within the paint booth area, ensuring products are finished to specifications, production schedules are met, and safety and quality standards are upheld. This hands-on role includes mentoring team members, managing workflow, and maintaining equipment to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate has several years of hands-on coating experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced production or custom environment. Essential Functions: Lead and coordinate activities of coating booth team members to meet production goals and quality standards. Prepare surfaces for coating by sand blasting, masking, or cleaning as required. Apply coatings (primarily Cerakote), primers, and finishes using spray equipment or other tools, ensuring proper thickness and coverage. Monitor the quality of painted products and ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications. Train, coach, and mentor team members and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Schedule and assign work based on production needs, materials availability, and employee skill levels. Maintain and troubleshoot paint booth equipment, including spray guns, ventilation systems, and curing ovens. Order and manage paint supplies, PPE, and other inventory needed for the department. Document production data, inspections, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements. Job Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in industrial painting preferred. 3 years of experience in industrial or automotive painting Strong understanding of paint application techniques, paint mixing, and safety protocols (including OSHA and EPA regulations). Knowledge of various coatings, curing methods, and surface preparation techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting. Compensation and Benefits: Starting pay is $22.00 - $24.00/hour and will vary based on experience and relevant skills/knowledge.
