Grade 005: $81,400 - $101,800 What’s involved in this role: We are
looking for a Area Production Manager in Lake Norden, SD. Provide
training and coaching to ensure compliance with Safety standards
and incident prevention. Responsible for operation of workers and
equipment in the production of high quality/ high value products.
Train employees in work methods and procedures. Provide feedback to
supervisors to help coordinate activities of workers engaged in
manufacturing handled at the highest level of quality. Plan and
develop systems and procedures to improve quality and efficiency of
the department. Analyze laboratory data, data trending, and react
accordingly data trending. Act as mentor to supervisors and
employees. Demonstrate good mechanical skills and understanding
with ability to communicate and work with the maintenance
department so that all equipment is maintained at the highest level
to reduce unnecessary down time. Maintain compliance with food
safety programs and HACCP. Able to complete and/or assist in the
duties of all jobs related to production when circumstances demand.
Manage reporting of yields, recovery and maximize opportunities.
Act as a coach and mentor to help supervisors and hourly employees
understand the process. Schedule: Day Shift What you need to join
our team: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Business, Operations
Management, or any other related field preferred. Equivalent
combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing required.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a dairy and/or food
production plant preferred. Supervisory experience required. Where
you’ll be working: Our Lake Norden, SD, plant is home to about 400
employees and boasts a brand new, state-of-the-art cheese and whey
facility. The facility produces monterey jack, muenster, asiago,
mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, cheddar and romano cheeses, as
well as various whey streams. Agropur’s US operations produce 1
billion pounds of quality, award-winning cheese each year. We
create more than 20 different varieties, and provide whey protein
and dry ingredients which are by-products of the cheesemaking
