Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU/Med
Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per
Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Chemotherapy certification
preferred. Description: Registered Nurses are required to pass a
Pass/Fail exam during orientation. This exam is open book and
focuses on skills learned. Candidates will be provided with all
necessary resources to pass. A score of 90% is required to pass.
Failure to achieve this score may result in termination. Previous
experience in oncology or PCU nursing is preferred. The unit
primarily cares for oncology and trauma patients. Common patient
diagnoses include various types of cancer and trauma-related
conditions. Nurses on this unit are expected to titrate certain
medications, such as insulin and cardizem. BLS and ACLS
certifications are required for all nursing staff. The
patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4 for PCU and 1:5 for
med/surg. On weekends, every other weekend shift will be required.
Uniforms must be navy blue scrubs. Nursing Assistant support is
available on this unit. The unit emphasizes teamwork and cultural
diversity in patient care. Nursing staff are expected to treat all
patients with respect, regardless of their background. Patients may
receive care from diagnosis through remission or end-of-life. A
willingness to collaborate with colleagues and a genuine desire to
care for patients is essential. Additional nursing competencies may
include knowledge of ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring.
Familiarity with the electronic medical record system is preferred.
