This opportunity offers a rewarding role in a 18-bed Cardio/General ICU/PCU/MedSurg combined unit, supporting a comprehensive thoracic program and advanced cardiac care. The unit patient ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:3 for post-surgical patients, providing a critical care environment with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists available 24/7. Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled nursing care to intermediate and downgraded CVICU patients, including those with diagnoses such as CHF, A fib RVR, CVA, and other cardiac/vascular conditions. Titrate multiple drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine, Epinephrine, Cardizem) safely and effectively. Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently using advanced tele monitoring systems. Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage complex patient care needs, including support for cath lab and structural heart procedures. Maintain compliance with unit policies, including fingernail restrictions and passing a clinical exam during orientation. Flexibility to float within similar or lower acuity levels as needed. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in ICU, PCU, or similar critical care settings. Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Ability to titrate drips and confidently manage complex cardiac patients. Strong critical thinking and communication skills. Valid drivers license to confirm compliance with radius requirements. Willingness to successfully complete an open book skills exam during orientation (90% passing score required). Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700 Weekend rotation every other weekend Scheduling managed by unit leadership (no self-scheduling) Location Overview: La Vista, Nebraska, offers a vibrant suburban lifestyle with convenient access to urban amenities and outdoor recreational areas.
