PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY MEDICINE PRACTICE DETAILS Sanford USD Medical Center Emergency Department is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Emergency Medicine Trained Physician, with either board certification in general pediatrics or adult emergency medicine, to join our group. Join the current group of 4 PEM fellowship trained physicians who work alongside 22 EM physicians and 6 APPs Sanford currently has the only PEM program in the Dakotas Level I Verified Adult & Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 46,000 encounters per year (adult pediatric) Pediatric emergency department visits per year = 6,000 15 shifts per month Current shift hours: 0800-1700 & 1600-0000 Opportunity to participate in both clinical practice and academic medicine New Pediatric Emergency Department opening January 2026 – 10 dedicated rooms including a trauma bay, adjacent to the main ED (main ED has 32 beds) Emergency Medicine Residency program launching in July 2026 The inaugural EM residents will collaborate closely with Pedicatric residents from both SD and ND Children’s Hospital is a 146-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care center with 80 sub-specialists; facilities include a 58-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a 12-bed Pediatric ICU AirMed Program has 2-fixed-wing planes and 1-helicopter Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive daily salary with a night differential, with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and relocation allowance About Sanford Health Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland.
