We are currently seeking a dedicated Health Information Management (HIM) Technician who will be instrumental in handling, organizing, and maintaining patients' health information data. This includes both paper and electronic systems. In this role, you will ensure that all information maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems. You will also collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure health information is available for patient care, billing, and legal purposes while maintaining patient confidentiality as per healthcare laws and regulations. Review patient records for accuracy and completeness and rectify any discrepancies. Update and maintain patients’ electronic health records (EHR) and ensure secure storage and access. Release information to persons and agencies according to regulations. Use classification software to assign clinical codes for reimbursement and data analysis. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws pertaining to health information privacy and security. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) software. Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and billing processes. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important projects. Skilled in maintaining detailed and accurate reports. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred.
