Job Description Job Description Veterinary Technician PAY: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour (based on experience) South Sioux Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is efficient, self-motivated, positive, approachable, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We practice the highest standards of veterinary medicine and offer digital x-rays, ultrasound, full in-house lab equipment, and computerized medical records. We are a growing, soon-to-be 3-doctor practice serving the Siouxland community. (For more information: southsiouxanimalhospital.com) Job Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure high-quality patient care, client education, and efficient workflow Assist with surgeries and procedures; administer and monitor anesthesia Perform dental prophies and obtain digital radiographs Provide clear client communication regarding recommendations, medications, treatments, and discharges Maintain accurate medical histories and documentation within AVImark Use safe and effective restraining techniques Maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs Mentor and support fellow team members Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments Restrain animals during exams and procedures Occasional on-call responsibilities Education, Training & Certification Certification as CVT, LVT, or RVT required Completion of an accredited two-year veterinary technician program Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing Veterinary Technician Skills & Competencies Active listening and ability to follow veterinarian instructions Clear and professional verbal communication with clients and team members Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to collaborate effectively within a veterinary team Physical stamina; on your feet most of the day and able to assist with animal restraint Compassion and professionalism when working with sick or injured pets and concerned owners Experience with AVImark preferred (willing to train the right candidate) Benefits 401(k) participation with employer match after one year Discounted pet care for employee-owned pets after 60 days probation Job-related continuing education assistance Health care plan provided after 60 days probation period (SSAH pays premium) PTO (paid time off) accrued immediately based on hours worked About the Area South Sioux Animal Hospital is in South Sioux City, NE—part of the Sioux City, IA metropolitan area (population ~170,000).
