Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Sioux Falls, South
Dakota, 57117! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN

Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN license (SD or
compact state) Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in
Bipap, Cpap, Heated High Flow, Oxygen titration, Moderate Sedation,
Telemetry, Medical-Surgical patient care Description: This role
involves working in a 30-bed medical-surgical unit and an 8-bed
progressive care unit. RNs will gain fundamental critical care
experience, particularly in mechanical ventilation. The focus is on
ensuring safe patient outcomes. Patient diagnoses include
pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart
failure, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and complex cases requiring
specialized nursing skills. Required nursing skills include oxygen
therapy, intravenous medications, moderate sedation monitoring
during procedures, chest tube management, tracheostomies,
postoperative care, non-invasive ventilation, and mechanical
ventilation. The unit supports a diverse patient population and
encourages family engagement. All staff must badge in and out of
the facility. The dress code requires wearing navy blue scrubs.
Equipment utilized includes Epic for documentation, Alaris pumps
for intravenous fluids, and Acudose for medications. Floating to
other units or departments may be required. Bed size in the unit
can flex from 30 to 41 beds depending on patient volume. The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 in the acute pulmonary setting and
1:4-5 on day shifts or 1:5-6 on night shifts. Training and
competencies for travelers will be validated upon arrival, focusing
on telemetry and mechanical ventilation. RNs will develop critical
thinking, time management, and patient care prioritization skills.
