Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of prior Telemetry experience in a large, urban hospital License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical and telemetry care. The nurse will work in a 36-bed unit focusing on the care of the medical surgical and telemetry population. There is an emphasis on the orthopedic patient population, along with other surgical specialties including surgical oncology, general surgery, GYN surgery, and OMFS. Telemetry monitoring is a crucial part of patient care on this unit. Ratios are 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with the possibility of a rare 1:7 ratio at night depending on staffing. Drips are required for all floors within the unit. Candidates should have experience in a Level 1 Academic Medical Center if they are first-time travelers. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required. This position is a 100% nicotine-free environment. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. All requested time off must be submitted with the application. There is a requirement for two weekends of work in a four-week schedule period. Mandatory scrubs in specified colors and branding are required for all RNs on the unit. Additionally, vendors offer clothing opportunities to staff including gray T-shirts. This facility is recognized for providing care to complex patients and is associated with one of the nation's leading research and educational institutions.
