Potential signing bonus! Company Overview:JST Global, LLC, was
formed in 2020 between Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc, and Jacob Stern &
Sons. As the largest US distributor of tallow, the joint venture
was formed to serve the worldwide fats and oils market providing
key ingredients in thousands of products in such diverse industries
as, personal care, animal nutrition, plus the rapidly developing
field of renewable fuels. Offices and processing operations are in
Houston, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska, with a new facility under
construction in Dakota City, Nebraska. We have logistics expertise
to export products virtually anywhere in the world to meet our
customers' manufacturing needs.This position is located in Dakota
City, Nebraska, where our new terminal will receive and store
tallow and other fats and oils, further process to meet desired
product specifications, and distribute to customers across North
America via truck and rail.Position Overview:Reporting to the
Vice-President, Operations, the Plant Manager will serve as a
member of the Operations Senior Leadership Team. The Plant Manager
will assist in the final construction activities of the Dakota City
facility and then lead the day-to-day operations of the entire
facility to accomplish company key results and objectives. Direct
reports include Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor,
Office Administrator and Lab Technicians with overall
responsibilities including an additional 17 Operators and
Maintenance staff. The Plant Manager will be supported by the
Vice-President of Operations, Inventory & Production Manager,
Quality Manager, and Environmental Health, Safety, and Security
(EHSS) Manager located in Houston, Texas.Job Responsibilities:
- Meet customer requirements for 24/7 delivery of internal
customer products and third-party customer products, potentially
across multiple locations.
- Maintain an inquisitive nature while promoting teamwork.
- Contribute to and develop strategies for the successful
execution of the business.
- Ensure terminal team is properly staffed, qualified and trained
to meet production needs.
- Ensure all operations are carried out safely in accordance with
JST Global policies, procedures and meet all Environmental, Health,
Safety, and Security ("EHSS") requirements. Work closely with the
EHSS Manager to ensure regulatory records are kept and procedures
are followed.
- Promotes terminal cleanliness.
- Ensure staff is qualified and trained to meet safety, quality,
and production standards. Work closely with Inventory and
Production Manager to ensure staff will meet production
schedules.
- Ensure all maintenance programs and schedules are followed to
guarantee equipment is in prime condition with minimal downtime to
maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare and manage 1-year capital and operational budgets.
Track plan-to-actual and ensure budgets are met. Develop a rolling
3-year capital plan. Control and minimize labor overtime, repair
expenses and utilities.
- Develop and drive initiatives with continuous improvement
objectives: focused waste minimization, productivity/efficiency,
and service improvements.
- Lead development and implementation of best practices and
business metrics in coordination with the functional leaser and
executive staff to identify new value add processes, manage key
risks, and pursue meaningful opportunities for improvement.
- Track and report KPIs and metrics for all operations at
site.
- Participates as member of the Leadership Team.
- Act as a point of contact for Tyson Fresh Meat Dakota City
facility.
- Up to 20% travel as required.Skills and Qualifications Required
for Success:
- Minimum 10 years management experience in industrial
operations, refineries, terminal sites, plant operations, or
manufacturing.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in staff management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
- Project management knowledge
- Knowledge of and skill in operating typical terminal
equipment
- Ability to use hand/power tools
- Must be TWIC eligible
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents (regulations,
policies, reports, bids, etc), blueprints, drawings
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and communicate with
all levels of the organization, from front-line employees to the
Executive Leadership Team
- Strong basic math skills, and the ability to calculate
formulas, and understand tank capacities/volumes/ and
percentages
- Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations
- Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals and
maintain effective working relationships with staff and
customers
- Competency in speaking Spanish is a plus
