Description:Job Title: Continuous Improvement ManagerReports to: VP OperationsLocation: Le Mars, IA or Saint Joseph, MONor-Am employs people that thrive in a fast paced environment, who are able to adapt to the needs of our customers and the workflow of a busy warehouse.   • Holds safety in high regard, follows all safety rules for equipment and general warehouse operations. Takes responsibility for their own safety by acting in a safe manner at all times. Takes responsibility for the safety of co-workers by calling out unsafe behavior on the spot.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Utilizes the company's core values, Integrity, Adaptability and Continuous Improvement to guide day to day decision making.
  • Participates in community events as a representative of Nor-Am, fosters a positive image of the company in the community and acts on our behalf in public.General job description is as follows but is not limited to the following:
    • Drives the LEAN management program, striving to continuously improve, increase efficiency and eliminate waste.
    • Serve as a champion of initiatives that deliver continuous improvement, culture transformation, waste reduction, promotion of safety programs and/or cost savings.
    • Develops and delivers Lean training for employees at all levels throughout the company, facilitates correct use of Lean tools.
    • Creates strong relationships and partnerships with managers, co-workers, and employees.
    • Facilitate, develop and improve visual communication tools.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects. Act as project manager and oversee the entire lifecycle of the process.
    • Set up systems to collect and analyze data as related to continuous improvement projects and corporate initiatives.
    • Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers at all levels. Is able to adjust messaging to efficiently communicate with everyone from the c-suite to the front line employee.
    • Coordinate Lean related activities at all locations in accordance with company goals and projections.
    • Develop and deploy the Lean Strategy, monitor results and report progress.
    • Maintain suitable professional affiliations and participate in professional development activities that foster continuous learning in the Lean field.
    • Position will require up to 40% travel. Employee will be able to schedule the majority of their own travel to allow for work/life balance, however there will be occasional required conferences or meetings that are not flexible.. Requirements:Summary of Experience and EducationBachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field required or a combination of education and experience. Demonstrable experience leading a LEAN team in a corporate or industrial environment. Minimum of 5 years working with a Lean program in increasing leadership capacity. Previous experience with project management, manufacturing processes and production environments is highly preferred. Valid state issued driver's license required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will be an excellent public speaker with strong Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Office skills.Must excel in both written and verbal communication. Effectively conveying information across a wide range of people is an essential skill in this role.Employee must have the physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds, to twist, bend and climb regularly. Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures (-10 F to 45 F). Employee will spend long periods sitting and standing, will frequently travel by automobile for 6-8 hours in one day. Successful candidates will be able to balance team and individual priorities.
