At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative, we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. LEARN MORE ABOUT MADISON > What You'll Accomplish As a valued member of our engineering team, you'll apply your engineering expertise to projects that strengthen the reliability and performance of our transmission system. Your technical background, problem?solving skills, and attention to detail will make a meaningful impact every day as we work to deliver exceptional wholesale power to our members. In this role you will: Contribute to the design and engineering of transmission structures, foundations, and related hardware, working closely with seasoned engineers and partnering with internal teams and external consultants. Develop project scopes, engineering drawings, structural details, and specifications aligned with East River's standards, and assist in reviewing engineering work to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support construction activities by helping select materials, evaluating equipment options, and ensuring projects stay on schedule. Compile and manage technical documentation, including design data, maps, charts, and specifications for maintenance and capital improvement projects. Assist in maintaining systems such as GIS and Asset Management to support planning, modeling, and long?term system reliability. Explore new tools, technologies, and engineering approaches while contributing creative solutions in a collaborative, supportive environment. Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you bring: A bachelor's degree in engineering: civil, mechanical, or electrical are highly relevant Direct utility, infrastructure, or general engineering experience (a plus but not required) Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), or interest in pursuing a PE license (preferred but not required) Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively with teammates, and build productive working relationships Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and working with engineering?related software and technology Benefits that Matter At East River, we value your well-being and want you to thrive.
