Production Manager Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced CNC
Machinist / CNC Milling Process Technician to join our precision
metals CNC shop. This role requires expertise in CNC horizontal and
vertical milling operations, including blueprint interpretation,
tooling and fixturing selection, cycle time estimation, and the
programming/setup of new parts. The ideal candidate will have a
strong technical background, attention to detail, and a
problem-solving mindset to ensure high-quality production. Key
Responsibilities: • Quote, program, and set up new parts and
processes in CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines. • Read
and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical
specifications to ensure accurate machining. • Accurately determine
cycle times, fixturing, and tooling requirements based on print
specifications. • Work with vendors to source tooling and optimize
machining processes. • Layout and set up CNC machines for efficient
operation. • Program CNC machines using CAM software and manually
edit G-code as needed. • Perform first-piece inspections and adjust
setups to ensure precision and quality standards. • Inspect parts
throughout the machining process, from setup through first-piece
approval. • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes
for efficiency and accuracy. • Maintain a clean and organized work
area, following all safety and quality procedures. • Collaborate
with engineering and production teams to improve machining
processes and workflow. • Document setup instructions and best
practices for repeatability and process improvement. Qualifications
& Requirements: • Minimum 3 years of CNC horizontal/vertical
milling experience in a precision machining environment. • Strong
ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining
specifications. • Experience quoting new parts, programming, and
determining cycle times, tooling, and fixturing requirements. •
Ability to work with vendors to procure tooling and improve
machining efficiency. • Proficiency in CNC programming and setup of
new parts. • Familiarity with CAM software and G-code editing. •
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to
work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced
environment. • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with multi-axis machining. •
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process
optimization. • Prior experience working in an ISO-certified
