Job Description:
Working with a well-respected multi-location Heavy Equipment
dealer that is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
A person that understands the importance of doing a job correctly
and the value of satisfied customers. Performs basic diagnostics,
service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer
owned heavy equipment.Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Responsibilities:
- Implements inspections of equipment and conveys observations,
repairs, and recommendations, as needed.
- Tests and drives equipment to diagnose equipment malfunctions
and contributes suggestions on repairs or replacements.
- Strategizes work techniques using charts, technical manuals,
and expertise.
- Utilizes various jacks and hoists to remove parts, disassembles
unit and inspects parts, repairs or replaces parts.
- Accurately uses micrometers, calipers, ang gauges, overhauls,
or replaces blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps;
rewires ignition system, lights and panels, mends damaged body and
fenders by repairing dents, paint, and welding broken parts.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shop area. Maintains
tools, equipment, and other devices used in testing and recording
vehicle performance data.
- Cognizant of the safety of others and themselves.Heavy
Equipment Mechanic Requirements:
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience
- 1-3 years of machine operating experience
- Valid Commercial Drivers License
- Capability of lifting heavy weightAll qualified applicants will
