This role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs across multiple educational settings within a K-12 school environment. Candidates will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide specialized assistance to students with visual impairments and those requiring structured learning environments. This contract position spans the current school year, offering approximately 35 hours per week. Key Locations: Early Childhood support for visually impaired students in Clarendon Hills, IL Elementary level support for students in a Structured Learning Environment (SLE) in Downers Grove, IL High school classroom support for visually impaired students requiring bilingual Spanish communication skills in Aurora, IL Primary Responsibilities: Assist students with visual impairments by implementing educational strategies and adapting materials to meet their needs Support structured learning programs aiming to enhance academic engagement and skill development Provide bilingual support in Spanish for high school students with visual impairments Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, specialists, and family members to monitor progress and address challenges Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district policies and procedures Qualifications: Possession of a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) and Paraprofessional Certificate Experience working with visually impaired students and/or in structured learning environments preferred Bilingual Spanish proficiency required for high school visual impairment support role Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a school team Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment This position requires immediate availability to support students early in the school year.
